SBNation Mock Draft, Pick #27: New Orleans Hornets

With the twenty seventh pick in the 2008 SBNation NBA Draft, the New Orleans Hornets, represented by At The Hive, select...

Ryan Anderson, Power Forward, California.  6-10, 240 lbs.

At The Hive says:

It's no secret that one of the main areas of improvement that the Hornets need is in the front court. When a lot of people say the Hornets' bench is lacking, a major focus is on finding a decent player who can score and rebound off the bench. Ryan Anderson fits into this kind of role quite well; one of the things that stands out is his shooting ability (49% FG, 87% FT). Anderson seems to be in the same mold as Rodney Rogers in terms of being able to score the basketball. In addition, Anderson has shown he is a decent enough rebounder and defender. However, a major concern about Anderson is his size; while he does need to gain some weight, Ryan Anderson is the kind of player the Hornets have been looking for to fill the gap in the their front court.

The Memphis Grizzlies, represented by 3 Shades of Blue, are on the clock.
