Erie's 1st cuts

The Bayhawks reduced their roster to 13 by releasing G Raheem Moss, PG Derrick Mercer, F,C Jeff Skemp
and G Ryan Troutman.  Moss was a camp invite.  He was the last player cut last preseason.  Mercer was Erie's 4th round pick out of American University.  Skemp was Erie's 6th round pick out of D-3 Wisconsin-Platteville.  Troutman, who played 3 seasons at D-1 Akron, was Erie's 7th round pick out of NAIA Tusculum College.  Obtained this info from the Erie Times News.

Thanks for posting this

Hopefully I can find similar information for the other teams and keep RU updated.

Skemp wasn’t a total shock since he came in essentially as the third center on the depth chart. I am a little surprised that Mercer got cut since they needed point guards pre-draft and he was a good three-point shooter at American, but I don’t know how he’s looked in camp and his size may have been an issue (he’s 5’7"). The Globetrotters were after him so I assume that’s where he’ll go.

Follow @BlogTalkBayHawk on Twitter

…if you’re looking to stay up to date on the BayHawks’ happenings. I get the press releases directly from the team and generally try to stay on top of the breaking news. I had this info posted to Twitter around 6:45 last night.

I have more in depth coverage and analysis on the blog, but for the breaking news, the Twitter feed is probably you’re best bet. One more cut needs to be made by tomorrow at 5 p.m. so stay tuned…

Clarification

Re-reading my post, I don’t mean to come off as arrogant or snobbish (by saying follow me, follow me!), which I kind of do. So, sorry about that. The point I was trying to make was just that I’m trying to be a good, reliable source for BayHawks news, so hopefully I can help people out when they are looking for that sort of information in the future.
