Dontell Jefferson signed for remainder of season with Charlotte Bobcats
Dontell Jefferson has been signed for the remainder of the season with the Charlotte Bobcats. While he hasn't even dressed in a game, he's been able to show coach Larry Brown enough in practice to show that he's a valuable asset and provides backcourt depth at both the point and off-guard positions.

I recall
a post you guys did about Championship contenders picking up D-leaguers for the strech run… Is this what you had in mind?
Sort of
Jefferson definitely fits the bill of the type of guy who can help a team either in the playoffs or in the interim games. I didn’t include Jefferson on the list, though, because he was already with the Bobcats at the time.
This is great news, and good for Jefferson.
Totally
There seem to have been a nice surge in the call-ups recently….I’m not familiar enough with the D-league to say whether this is uncommon this time of year or not, but it certainly does bolster the image of the D-league as a great grooming tool for talent.
There has
but it’s mostly been a handful of teams doing the calling up. OKC, NY and Toronto have been doing most of it. The Raptors and Knicks will have at least one D-League team within a 10 hour drive next year (two if the Celtics don’t outright own either Maine or Spiringfield), so for them especially I think the exposure to D-League talent has been positive.
Speaking of which, Sonny Weems just got called back up by the Nuggets.
playoffs???
Yahoo!!!
If the Bobcats dont make the playoffs would dontell jefferson be able to rejoin the flash for the dleague playoffs???

Well he’ gotta be happy making close to the same for a ten day in nba to a year in the dleague…
What options(free agents) do the flash have now that we got one less player on our roster…

Not many, really.
You’ll be 2nd in the priority list, behind Anaheim, I believe.
Idaho’s got DerMarr Johnson’s rights, but he’s not a point guard, and won’t report to Idaho, from what I understand.
No other big names in that I’m aware of.
