With the continuing injuries to Celtics big man Kevin Garnett, GM Danny Ainge has apparently been on the look out for another "Big Baby type player." His search has led him to D-league's own Antonio Meeking, who at 6'7" and 270 lbs meets the Celtics need for "more muscle in the paint, I mean... muscle or at least mass of some kind," according to Ainge.

"We're looking forward to Antonio's contributions to the Celtics organization, both on and off the floor," Boston released in a statement on Wednesday. "Plus Stephon Marbury needs someone to drive his party truck."

Meekings was averaging 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 35 minutes per game with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds this season.

UPDATE FROM SCOTT: I don't know his agent, and therefore, this is going unconfirmed for now.

Great!

Great update in the spirit of the day. I knew it was between Antonio and Jasper Johnson for that spot!
