Really?
Pathetic. I’ve been pushing Peach Baskets, but Patriots or Pioneers would be much better than any of these options.
So disappointing
Spirit of Springfield? Is that even legal? That belongs to St. Louis.

Not a big fan of names
that aren’t pluralized… that would rule out Spirit & Armor.
True Blue Jazz
RIP Nick Adenhart. 4/9/09
There needs to be a write-in.
These names are weak. I guess at gunpoint I would say the Colonials, because the Founders just sounds dumb.
And there is a write-in vote
So I will be voting for Pioneers every day, hoping that, that is the name. No offense to Iceman, but Peach Baskets just a worse name.
No worries hkf
I’m well aware that Pach Baskets is horrible and somewhat of a sexual innuendo. But I’m still cheering for it as an option. Pioneers would be a much better name than all of these listed though.
Sorry to make you mad hkf
I didn’t know that this would be such a big deal to you. Good luck on your write-in voting.

Clearly you don't understand
the the very fate of the D-League hangs in the balance of this name decision. The league can either be really cool, or just another CBA, it all depends on what the Springfield brass decide.
As always, thanks IceMan
You’re always able to keep things in perspective for me. You truly are the yin to my yang.

I do what I can...
everytime I think about this naming discussion, the Mad Ants immediately enter my brain and I regain my perspective on this matter. You’d do well to think of the “Red Claws” everytime Springfield comes up, Scott. And try not to vomit in your mouth, I know it’s hard.
That’s the thing. There are bad team names already. Even if Springfield was named the Springfield Ridiculous Upsider’s, there’s still going to be crappy names in the D-League. It’s not going away.

No but can't we minimize the damage?
If someone was beating your car with a baseball bat and you ran out to stop them, would you be convinced to let them continue if I said, “Well your car is already pretty dented?”
If your answer is Yes, then vote for the Springfield Spirit and call it a day.
Imagery is what I do Scott
I felt like you weren’t taking this as seriously as was neccessary (see hkf’s post).
Wow
EVERYONE write in Pioneers. We can’t let them make this mistake. Its as if they knew Pioneers would win, but they wanted to make it a challenge so they made us write it in.
How did we let this happen?
It's a slap in the face from the D-League
It truly is a challenge. I encourage somebody to do a fan post and I’ll promote it to the frontpage. I don’t care enough if there’s one more crappy name in the D-League, but if you all do, lets make it a movement.

I'll give this a day to seep into my brain
then if no one else has taken up this mantle…..then I shall for the good of the D-League and RU readers.
It's not that I care so much
It’s just I thought this one was so easy they would nail it. It would be like naming the new Harlem team the “Brownstones.” Yes, there are brownstones in Harlem, but it still not a good name, when the right name is staring you in the face.
Springfield Founders? O rly?
I would go with
The Springfield Jebediahs

We could run with that
A Simpsons reference should have at least been mentioned.
