Talked to Donnie Nelson and he said the city of Frisco is still very interested in bringing a National Basketball Development League team to town, but that it won't happen in the 2009-10 season.
There are several reasons for holding off, but the economy certainly is one of them. It's still a likely destination for the D-League, given the facilities and the outrageous growth of the far northern suberb. Their new Frisco Square development has been a highlight of the town's meteoric growth.
Sounds like we might be back down to 16, unless there's a surprise.
