Maineredclaws

Maine Red Claws have officially put out their logo.
Good? Bad? Ugly?
They also put up a pretty new outdoor sign!
Next - What's the mascot going to look like!?
UPDATE: We have a secondary logo.

I like the little basketballs at the end of his antennae.

I like

That you just used the word antennae.

Haha

Yeah, that’s a word you probably don’t see here too much.

We'll try to work it into the OSLB more often next year....

Trey Gilder just dunked that with his arms/antennae/toothpicks.

I'm sure it'll similar

I can’t wait for the mascot unveiling!

Pinchy Paul needs some antennae with basketballs at the end.

Okay, I'll work on a Pinchy Paul Redux tonight....

it’s going to be epic. I’ll do several models and then we can see which is closest to the real thing when the announce it.

I hope that photo wasn’t taken at what was supposed to be a press conference. There’s one guy there.

It's too bad

We don’t have a Portland correspondent… They could have covered this very well!

Can we add a Portland, Maine :)

I think it’s a pretty good logo. Beats the Team That Shall Not Be Named aka the Nonsonics

haha

I apologize. But, was that volunteering if RU needs a Portland Oregon correspondent?

My brother lives in the area

I’ll try and get him on the Red Claw Express.

I can tell you though from visiting there a few times, they take their lobster seriously so don’t miss w/ the Red Claw. This is no “Mad Ant”. This is the livelihood and tradition for 10’s of Mainers..

Good call Stan....

My only question: Will the lobster Mascot dive into a huge vat of butter at halftime each game. I feel as though that should be a pre-requisite for naming your team after shellfish.

I seriously cannot wait

for the doorprizes at Red Claw’s games next year. Mommy, mommy I just got a free Mateen Cleaves Martini Glass Coozie shape like a lobster’s head!!!

One problem as I see it

Will the mascot have claws as well? Because I can’t imagine them being good for things like, you know, gripping basketballs.

I guess they’d be fine for throwing t-shirts into the crowd, though.

Now writing for Ridiculous Upside, where we think Trey Gilder could be the steal of the draft.

Or sexually harassing the dancers...

which given the location of the franchise, may lead to hazard pay for the Lobster mascot employee.

I like the logo

I saw it when I went to the D-League site and was pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to see it on the home floor. Green Jerseys with Red Claws, lol. Still I dig it.

Best Logo in the D-League

Can’t wait for their jerseys hope their as creative.

by stneff70 on Apr 30, 2009 4:45 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Because it looks more delicious...

if they added some garlic rolls and an ear of corn that logo would be a Red Lobster ad.

by Aisander D on Apr 30, 2009 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yum, cheddar bay biscuits are the best. But, you’re right. That secondary logo is very reminiscent of Boston’s logo. All the lobster needs is a pipe and a cane and he’d be good.

You’re making me hungry. I might have to go cook something now.
