Dontell Jefferson RU's Defensive Player of the Year
Dontell Jefferson, the 6'5" point guard out of Arkansas, has earned our Defensive Player of the Year award. While the statistics don't necessarily show it (1.5 steals, .3 blocks), his reputation around the league as the top perimeter defender in the D-League and watching him in action garners him this award.
The Charlotte Bobcats apparently recognized this as well - calling him up and eventually signing Jefferson for the rest of the season earlier this season. With six point guards averaging more assists and three better scorers at the guard spot, you can bet that his defense, and maybe our writing about him, got him the call he's been waiting for the past three seasons in the D-League.
Rounding out our All-Defensive Team:
PG: Dontell Jefferson, Utah (Jon L, jo22collins pick)
SG: Dominique Coleman, Colorado
SG: Othyus Jeffers, Iowa
SF: Brent Petway, Idaho (My pick)
C: Kurt Looby, Rio Grande Valley
Not many people are going to be scoring on that team.
UPDATE: Brent Petway got official D-League award.

That is one long team.
If Jay Bilas was breaking down this team for the NBA draft he would say the word “long” repeatedly for five minutes before passing out.
Haha
I was took a bit of a break. Had to wait for some email replies and such..
