Forty Wayne Mad Ants Coaching Update

According to the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, the Mad Ants coaching search is down to four candidates with a decision, I understand, forthcoming this weekend. I'll list them in order of my preference.
Joey Meyer - If he doesn't get this, I'd be shocked. Shocked, I tell you. Two D-League championships, 14 seasons as head coach at DePaul along with his father, Ray Meyer, being a coach as well. There isn't a better minor league coach available.
Bob MacKinnon - I like Bob. He's fiery, he runs a fun offense, and he just won a championship with Colorado. He also made Brandt Andersen hate him, so I feel like we're in a fraternity together.
Duane Ticknor - Tick's a legend. Doesn't have quite the resume that Meyer does, but Coach Ticknor can develop with the best of them - namely future coaches. Ask about half the coaches in the D-League, and they'd probably consider Ticknor an influence in their coaching career - including two of the best young coaches, Bryan Gates and Nate Tibbetts.
Scott Roth - Roth's currently working out Hasheem Thabeet, so I don't think you have to worry about his ability to develop players. He also turned Bakersfield from terrible when he took over last season to good this season. The only reason I have him fourth is because when we re-buy Bakersfield, I think Coach Roth would love to work for us - or anyone else if Bakersfield re-opens the $2 million practice facility.

I hope MicKimmon gets it....
so I can hedge my words. But seriously wouldn’t it be great if the Brandt/Bob feud carried over to a new team?

If Coach MacKinnon is on that list does that mean that Colorado is gonzo?

We missed your presence....
Scott and I agree a female perspective is always welcomed. Plus I’ve been dying to tell you that I got to hold Wojo’s kid at the Duke Graduation a few weeks back. That was pretty awesome.

Wojo's kid?
That’s random. How did you pull that off? You can always email me if I’m not around here.

My part time job is working events....
and he was there supporting some grads. Wojo must have injured his leg or something, becuase he was limping. His little toddler was running around and almost got away from him. So I snatched the kid up and we had a good laugh. Classic.

That’s pretty awesome. What did he say to you when he came to retrieve his kid? I don’t think I’m gonna be able to get down to Durham during K Academy this year, so keep an eye out for Quin for me. I haven’t heard yet if he’s coming back this year.

not good
That’s not going to look to good on the league. What does look good is the Mad Ants’ (ridiculous) upside for next season. As a Mad Ants fan myself, I’m excited just knowing that we have 4 solid candidates! All are proven winners and know the the D- League! Can’t go wrong with any of them. Good news for Mad Ants fans!
