Stern says league is interested in putting NBDL team in Harlem.
From the Twitter account ofCNBC's Darren Rovell, via The Baseline. I would love it if the team were called the Harlem Shakes.

This intrigues me
Stern said the same thing in 2007. I’ve heard that New York was interested in the hybrid affiliation with Springfield, but maybe they’ve just decided to buy a team now? Who knows.

Yeah, I knew Harlem was in play earlier
I’d be interested in how this came up. I’m tempted to say that Stern bringing it up again means he’d like to see it done soon, but it depends on whether there’s a team and/or other investor interested.
Also, what’s up with the NYT’s weird alternate spelling of cauldron?
Now writing for Ridiculous Upside, now with more draft coverage.
Yep
I twittered Darren a ‘source, please?’ tweet.
I had heard that New York was going to happen this year, but then the Knicks got cold feet in the poor economy, but it was almost a for sure for next season. I wonder if Stern pushed them or something… Maybe they’ll buy the 14ers on the cheap?
As for caldron, I suspect they had Jose Calderon on the mind. That, or they are only allowed one spelling correction per story, and since they spelled President Reed’s first name Don in the original rendition, they wanted to fix that one first. (See bottom of NYT story for explanation)
