SBNation Mock Draft, Pick #4: Sacramento Kings

With the fourth pick in the SBNation Mock Draft, the Sacramento Kings, represented by Ziller from Sactown Royalty select... (Drum Roll please)

271121_medium

Tyreke Evans: PG/SG, Memphis. 6-5, 221 lbs.

From Sactown RoyaltyTyreke Evans. He's massive for a (potential) point guard, and though he may lack the athleticism to slide with the league's quickest shuttlebugs, his outstanding length and strength will allow him to play goalie on the perimeter. On offense, he just needs to learn how to kick out to Kevin Martin, drop off to Jason Thompson, and set up Spencer Hawes in the post every now and then. I think he can handle it.

On the clock: Mike Prada from Bullets Forever.

The 2009 SB Nation Mock Draft so far:

1. Los Angeles Clippers - Clips Nation: Blake Griffin

2. Memphis Grizzlies - 3 Shades of Blue: Ricky Rubio

3. Oklahoma City Thunder - Welcome to Loud City: James Harden

4. Sacramento Kings - Sactown Royalty: Tyreke Evans

Boo to this pick....

and Scott I love that you have a picture of Evans in a Sixers jersey. You’re just flipping the bird to everyone in this mock.

I don't feel like he's the best PG prospect after Rubio....

and 5 feels too high for him. Seems like he’s a better value at 8-15.

You mean as an actual PG and not a tweener?

Jrue Holiday, Johny Flynn, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, and Ty Lawson. To me Evans really looks and plays like a SG or “combo” guard. Just because he played PG for two monthes in college doesn’t necessarily mean he is one and could succeed as one in the NBA. Yes he could be an OJ Mayo type combo guard, but not really a pure point that Kevin Martin would need to get him touches.
