D-League hopefuls get an A for effort
I know, I know, another fanshot. This is the D-League's downtime until Summer League starts, though, so please bear with me. In the meantime, enjoy this LA Times piece about the D-League's recent pre-draft camp. This isn't the "elite minicamp" featuring guys like Brent Petway and Rod Benson playing in front of NBA scouts, this was the group of guys trying to get picked in the upcoming D-League draft.

I know I'm the one who posted this
but I think it’s worth discussing whether this kind of article is really “helpful” to the D-League. I would argue that if Dan Reed and co. want to ensure a more long-term success for the league and its development as a true minor league for the NBA, they should do everything possible to increase the D-League’s status as only a step below (or even half-step) the NBA talent-wise, and decrease any image the public has of it being the last vestige of those with no real shot.
Or am I just a killjoy?

As usual
You’re just a killjoy.
In all honesty, I’d rather have this article been about the other guys there. Essentially though, this is very similar to how Chris Andersen was discovered way back when…
