Springfield Armor to Announce Head Coach on Wednesday

You'd think a Massachusetts team would be sensitive to putting an "A" on someone's chest.

You'd think a Massachusetts team would be sensitive to putting an "A" on someone's chest.

According to a press release sent out by the team, the Springfield Armor will announce their head coach on Wednesday at 11 AM.  The press conference is apparently open to the public and the "community is encouraged to join" the team as they make the announcement.  So if you live in Springfield, Massachusetts, and you want to take an early lunch or have nothing better to do, head on down to the MassMutual Center.

The only clues given in the press release as to who the coach might be are that the team plans on playing an "exciting brand of basketball" and that the head coach "already has carved out a name for himself in Massachusetts' sports landscape."  Austin Ainge doesn't have a brother, does he?  Oh wait, the press release also makes a point of saying the team intervewed people with experience either coaching or playing in the NBA, and that the head coach would be "an established figure."  Who knows, maybe Danny's planning on stepping down as Celtics GM as part of an Ainge family plot to take over the D-League.

Personally I think they should have the coach show up dressed as Moltar (the mascot) and announce who it is by dramatically removing his helmet, but that's just me.
