And The D-League Dunk Contestants Are...

Going to be announced tomorrow, along with the 3-point shooter guys (Note: Not sure 3-point shooter guy is the technical term).

With the 3-point contest, I'll nominate Mike Gansey, Blake Ahearn, Chad Toppert and Kyle McAlarney. Trust me on that selection, because I don't have youtube to prove it.

This is probably the best dunk from last year's D-League Dunk contest, featuring James White

For the dunk contest contestants, I have youtube footage, so I'll hit you with my nominations after the jump!

Star-divide

Option A. Tony Dandridge, Albuquerque Thunderbirds

Option B: Keith Clark, LA D-Fenders

Option C: Alonzo Gee, Austin Toros

Option D: Frank Robinson, LA D-Fenders

Option E: Raymond Sykes, Sioux Falls Skyforce

Option F: Doug Thomas, Reno Bighorns

Option G: Deron Washington, Tulsa 66ers

Bonus: Joe Alexander, Fort Wayne Mad Ants via the Milwaukee Bucks

3 Point Contest

Did you bother looking at the DLeague stats when you picked your 4 candidates for the 3 Point contest? How else can you measure who should be in the contest other than shooting percentages? Gansey is 59th, Ahearn is 109th (yeesh), Toppert is 19th, McAlarney is 10th. Check out who is has a better shooting % for threes in the top ten. Does one name jump out at you (#9)? In case you need help, click on STATS on the DLeague website and select 3 Point Shooting. But I guarantee this will end up being a Chris Alpert inside job. I’m sure his favorite agents are working the phone lines.

I did not look at D-League stats

Simply the guys I’d call-up if I needed a 3-point shooter.
Thanks for your advice, though.

Jamelle Cornley and Ryan Bright are tied for third in the league.

PUT THEM IN THE COMPETITION

For realistic choices, I might add Moses Ehambe and Cecil Brown.

I originally had Brown and Ehambe

But Chad Toppert beat them due to his completing the most awkward 3point shooting boy band ever. Looking back, Ryan Bright would’ve made sense as well.
Somebody should photoshop that for me..

I would like to nominate you.

Off of a trampoline, sitting on top of a second trampoline. I think you could dunk in that scenario.

So she'd be on the ladder

then it’d be dropped on the trampoline?
Or she’d just climb a ladder after it was dropped on a trampoline?

The ladder would be raised into the rafters and then she would climb onto the ladder.

once she had a good grip, the ladder would drop onto a trampoline. Then I would throw a basketball towards her to see if she could dunk.

And if she can't dunk

Ladder match.
I’m in.

3 Point Contest

What a farce. Did you see who the League picked for the “Shooting Stars” Contest from Los Angeles………………..Diamon Simpson. The PR for the Dream Factory Friday says that “The Haier Shooting Stars contest features six numbered shooting locations of increasing difficulty, with each team attempting to make all shots in numeric order in the fastest time”. Simpson is shooting .472% from the field and .000% from three point range. I have been to almost all Defender games and his 47% came from three feet and in. If the goal was to have representation from at least every team in either the All Star Game, Three Point Contest or Shooting Stars contest, how does Forehan-Kelly not get the call for this new event??? His shooting percentage from 3 point range is THE HIGHEST of any of the twelve selected and FOURTH for 2 point shooting. If Chucky Brown or Rasheed Hazzard had anything to do with this selection, they should be ashamed. But as I said in my earlier post….if Chris Alpert has anything to do with this………..What a joke.

Shooting Stars Contest

I’m not going to let this one go. Can Scott S or Jon L get a definitive answer as to HOW they selected the team representatives to this? You must know someone at the league who will give you an answer. Put on your Mike Wallace hat and get the spokesholes at the league to tell you how these guys were picked. Heck, you might pick up a couple more readers of RU. Six is not enough !!
