Reggie Williams Signs Guaranteed Contract With Golden State Warriors Through 2010-2011 season

NBA D-League call-up Reggie Williams, who signed an extension with the Golden State Warriors on Monday, has a contract that is guaranteed for next season.

NBA Insider Matt Steinmetz confirmed the Williams news Wednesday in a conversation at Warriors practice.

Williams, 23, was originally signed to a 10-day contract on March 2 as a free agent. The Warriors then signed Williams to another 10-day contract on March 12 as he turned in a string of solid performances. .

As a follow up to this news, Williams went out and scored 23 points while shooting 8-of-14 from the field and added five rebounds off of the bench.

As a follow up to that news and the news above it, if any NBA team would like to hire me to suggest the best available player for their needs, I'm available fairly cheap (read: business cards with team logo and a company-issued beeper).

Reggie's averages

are no joke either. 13 games, 25min, 14.8pts, 54.6% FG, 47.7% 3pt, 85.7% FT, 3.7 reb, 2/1 ast/to.

The scoring efficiency

Is the most important part. Incredible.

Somebody that writes better than I do needs to take up Reggie for MVP...

Over at AOL Fanhouse, Matt is talking about Harris (just signed with Houston, I think) being the “prohibitive NBA D League MVP”…I think reggie Williams has done more for the D-League, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and every D-League player than anyone else has. Through 31 games he led the D-League in scoring and his stats were out of this world. Additionally, his NBA performance through 13 games is better than the top two Rookie of the Year candidates! His performance has GMs and coaches looking hard at the D League for other great talent that may have slipped through the crack. Reggie for D League MVP!
