Around SBN: Leandro Damiao Is Still Really Good

Mike Gansey Is Going To China With Chris Mullin, Robert Horry, The Nets Dancers AND Fellow D-League Stars!

I always envisioned Mike Gansey thinking "Eat your heart out, Chris Mullin!" whenever I saw him shoot in college.
(This is Scott's caption, by the way. Gansey rarely talks in third person.)

Yours truly is on his way to China tomorrow with legends and a few fellow D-League player.  I'll be playing two charity games to help in the NBA's continued commitment to support rebuilding efforts in the earthquake stricken Sichuan Province.

For the full press release, go here, but I'll try to explain it the best that I can.

We will first be traveling to the great city of Chengdu (better known as China's party capital) and  I am very much looking forward to representing the D-League - as well as participating in NBA Cares programs - to give back to the people of China.  Still, the best part of the trip might be spending time with the New Jersey Nets dancers!

I'll also be playing alongside Big Shot Robert Horry and Run TMC's Chris Mullin which will be loads of fun -  I really can't wait to hangout and learn from them this week.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: Back in my middle school days, I rocked the Golden State Warriors Mullin jersey and my two buddies had Mitch Richmond  and Tim Hardaway  jerseys so we could form our own Run TMC.  While in China, I also plan to challenge my favorite the immortal Mullin in some kind of 3-point shooting contest - even though that might not be a good idea.

Anyway, as many of you know, China is not the closest place in the world and it will be a VERY long flight over so I am sure I will have plenty of time to blog on my way over there and will be checking in with you as much as I can.

Talk to you very soon...

Have fun

That sounds like it will be a great experience, Mike. Speaking of rocking jerseys, I own a Big Shot Bob #5 with the Lakers. He’s one of my all-time favorite players, so clutch. Have a great time. I look forward to hearing all about it!

Thanks Kwast

No luck on the Mullin jersey. The one I had back in my middle school days in nowhere to be found. I will think of something for him to sign and I don’t think my hair can do the flat top…

That is so cool ... well deserved reward on a great season

Hope your next NBA jersey says Grizzlies on the front and Gansey on the back!

Safe travels …
