Around SBN: Stan Van Gundy Fired As Head Coach Of The Magic

Orlando Summer League Schedule Announced

The Orlando Summer League, excuse me, the "2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League at the RDV Sportsplex" is always fun to pay attention to because of the brilliant announce crew of Dante and Galante (hopefully they're still in charge).

It'll also be fun because they have eight teams scheduled to participate this season and none of them are a crazy conglomerate (Sorry, fans of the New Delphia Nexers).

Which teams, you ask? The Orlando Magic (obviously), New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics and the Charlotte Bobcats.  This means two of the top three picks (provided the 76ers don't trade down) will be in attendance to make a total of four lottery picks (What up, Pacers and Jazz fans!?).

I've attached a full schedule after the jump - you'll never guess who's leading off (hint - top picks).  We'll also have full coverage, as well as developing rosters, in the weeks leading up to tip-off on July 5th.

I do. I was referring to the Sixers as we in this instance. I’d take Mike Harris and Dwayne Jones over Rodney Carney and Jason Smith any day.

Oh yeah. I saw you practicing your reccing around my parts. That may have come out wrong. Not gonna change it.

Reccing around your parts

Is my fourth favorite hobby.

Probably

The games look like they are recorded with a FlipCam, but I guess FlipCam coverage is better than nothing.

It reads a little ambiguous:

"Fans can follow the action, get box scores, game recaps and cumulative statistics by visiting www.orlandomagic.com."
As Julius infers, Vegas definitely has the better production value.

We need the NBA to step in here and officially make a single summer league for all NBA teams to attend in Vegas with more games on NBA TV.

I don't think it's up to the NBA

They seem to back Vegas more than they do Orlando, but not every teams wants to go to Vegas.
Regardless, all of the games are available on the internet anyway.

Yeah, that’s my point. The NBA needs to make it up to the NBA.

Last year, I think I paid 30 or 40 dollars to watch the Vegas summer league. That price probably deters a lot of people who would watch otherwise.
