D-League "Diamond in the Rough"

Met a guy at a local 24 hour fitness in Houston, he was working out with trainer, so naturally I watched his routine, this kid was in the basketball gym andI swear he made 30 plus jump shots all net!!!

Watch the entire workout and this kid has nice size and in some awesome shape.

Got a chance to talk with him and get his name, Craig Blackmon, he has been working out with the Dallas Mavericks D-League team and will be in the D-League draft Nov 3.

Look out for this kid, I googled him and caught some youtube film...kid has a JUMP SHOT!!!

If he makes it to the D-League he will get an NBA opportunity!

What little info there is on this guy makes him seem like a solid prospect, but in this day and age it’s really, REALLY rare for someone to slip through the cracks. If he was good there would have been mention of him somewhere, he would have been in pre-draft camps when his college eligibility expired, etc.

Diamond

You have a point but I believe in true hidden talent, who’s to say what this kid has been through. Just look at Kurt Warner, was working at a grocery store and playing arena ball. That’s the irony and luck of a “Diamond in the Rough” player, when you are rummaging through cole there are no signs, or indications of what you will find so. Yea if he did have the major credentials and upside he would either be overseas or a known draft pick, but once again that’s not hard to find. The hardest working players are those under the radar now and skill and basketball IQ that makes a professional player.
