NBA Mock Draft: OKC Thunder Select PJ Hairston From NBA D-League

USA TODAY Sports

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2014 NBA Mock Draft with Welcome to Loud City selecting NBA D-League star PJ Hairston.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #21, PJ Hairston, Guard, UNC / NBA D-League

SB Nation's Thunder blog Welcome to Loud City explains the pick:

The Thunder are a team notorious for players with monstrous wingspans, so P.J. Hairston's selection only makes sense for our greater plan of finally accomplishing Hands Across America. But seriously, we couldn't be more excited that he fell to #21. He's proven himself an offensive rock while in the D-League, and he should have the tools to contribute in that sense right away. The Thunder already have a trio of scorers that can create for themselves quite easily in KD, Russ, and Reggie. So anyone who could feed off of that on a consistent basis would be a welcome addition, especially given the poor offensive performances of our role players late in the playoffs. Really, the Thunder could use a fourth shot creator, but there's not much you can find at this point in the draft. There are a lot of motivational questions surrounding Hairston. But given that we dealt with those same questions around PJIII, just went to the conference finals, and need an impact player now, I feel comfortable accepting those risks.
