Brian Butch Butchered 'Birds Last Night In The D-League

I'm going to start this off by saying that I don't give enough love to Brian Butch. When he was here in Bismarck, he played very well for about 15 minutes, but didn't impress me in the rest of his time on the floor. The only other chance I've had to see him live, at the D-League Showcase, he had a 30 point game and a 10 point game.

RGV's Mike Harris Called-Up To Washington Wizards; Likely Replacing Injured Josh Howard

Sources close to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers have reported that the Washington Wizards will call-up former Houston Rocket Mike Harris, presumably to fill the void left by Josh Howard, who is out for the season with a torn ACL.

REPORT: Austin's Dwayne Jones Headed To Dallas Mavericks

According to the venerable Marc Stein's most recent report, the Dallas Mavericks are bringing in Austin's Dwayne Jones this afternoon for a tryout followed by a likely 10-day deal. Jones picked up quite a bit of NBA interest this week as I reported just yesterday that Jones was garnering heavy interest from the Washington Wizards, but it looks like the Mavericks were able to grab him first.

Catching Up With Will Conroy, All-Time Leading Scorer In The D-League

I decided to catch up with the top option in the D-League, Rio Grande Valley point guard Will Conroy. A 6-foot-2 point guard out of the University of Washington, Conroy has already received a call-up this season from the Houston Rockets and is said on the short list for the Blazers. Conroy is averaging 14.1 points, 9.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds.

Recap: Dakota Wizards 106, Idaho Stampede 105

A recap of yesterday's D-League game between the Dakota Wizards and the Idaho Stampede.

The Backstretch for the Idaho Stampede

[I love it whenever Rumble fanposts. Consider this a preview of tonight's only game in the D-League, featuring Idaho here in my home city of Dakota. I had planned to go to the game, but due to the absence of my gallbladder, I'm recliner-ridden for at least another day.]

Call-Up Report, 2/15-2/21

A look at notable performances from the past week by D-League players called up to the NBA.

Will Conroy Retakes All-Time D-League Scoring Record Last Night In The D-League

Will Conroy needs a call-up again. Conroy used to be a bit of a thorn in my side, but he's been playing very well since returning to the D-League again, doing just enough to help the Vipers win - not forcing bad shots, not looking for his own offense first, just using his head and making his team better.

RGV's Antonio Anderson Called-Up to the Oklahoma City Thunder

Anyway, let's get my thoughts out on Antonio Anderson. He's a fine player, but in my opinion, there were more NBA-ready players available. Unless the Thunder were specifically looking for a talented but slumping combo guard whose defense is a bit overrated and offensively underrated, I'm a bit perplexed by this move.
