Trey Johnson to the Cav's

New, 1 comment

Clinton "Trey" Johnson III (See where came up with Trey!?) will be called up to the Cav's from the Bakersfield Jam tomorrow, replacing former D-Leaguer Jawad Williams.  Williams made the Cav's this season out of camp, was released, and has just finished his 2nd consecutive 10-day contract with the Cavs.

Trey Johnson, a 6'5" 1/2/3 guard, is currently averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.6 boards, shooting 46% from the field as well as from 3-point range (impressive!).  In Johnson's last three games, Johnson is averaging 23 points and seven assists, but has turned the ball over SIX times a game, all losses.

Johnson was the leading scorer in all of D1 basketball his senior season, averaging 27 points at Jackson State.  Johnson was in camp with the New Orleans Hornets last season, before deciding to go overseas, than finally heading to the Jam.  He was also with the Suns this pre-season.  Herbert Hill is expected to replace Johnson on the Jam roster.
