On Thursday night, the RidiculousUpside.com staff hosted its second weekly podcast. We were joined by Bakersfield Jam Assistant General Manager Brian Levy and SilverScreenandRoll.com contributor Ben Rosales.
And quite an informative session it turned out to be. Levy discussed the Jam's recent turnaround following an underwhelming start to the season, and explained how the recent additions of NBA vets like Damion James and Ike Diogu (as well as some recent stints from NBA players on assignment from the Jam's respective affiliates) have played into the team's success this season.
Levy also discussed how Bakersfield (like countless other teams in the NBA D-League) balances its attention on winning games and developing young prospects. We also touched on topics like the holiday season in the NBADL, and the minor league executive's own journey.
Next up was Rosales, who pays special attention to D-Fenders basketball for the aforementioned Lakers' site here on SB Nation. The writer provided some in depth analysis on Los Angeles' frequent D-League assignee Ryan Kelly, and talked about how the Lakers' recent signing of Kendall Marshall may be able to provide the team with a boost moving forward.
To close things out, myself (Keith Schlosser) and RidiculousUpside.com contributor Dakota Schmidt touched on a handful of topics, including the emergence of RGV Vipers guard Troy Daniels, and the opportunity for another top notch floor general to stand tall as the cream of the crop, now that Marshall has been called up by the Lakers.
