It was an SB Nation Las Vegas Summer League house reunion on the RidiculousUpside.com Podcast on Monday night, as both Dylan Murphy and Gino Pilato called in to speak with me (Keith Schlosser) about the NBA D-League season.
Since their days contributing to different respective SB Nation NBA blogs (Murphy at PostingandToasting.com and Pilato right here at RidiculousUpside.com), both have moved on to greener pastures.
Now Video Coordinator for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Murphy discussed his new role and the ongoing transition he continues to make from media member to D-League coach. Our friend also talked about the Mad Ants' success as of late, and exactly how what he does on a daily basis impacts the way Fort Wayne plays. Thrust into a role with the Mad Ants just a few months ago, Murphy also addresses his new life in Indiana and his newfound appreciation for the NBA's minor league.
Next up was Pilato, now the editor of DLeagueDigest.com. A resident of Boise, Idaho, the former RU writer gave us a look at the keys to the Stampede's success so far this season. Often able to grab a closer look at the local team, Pilato's insight on the team, its players, and the organization's revived winning culture in Idaho. Always one to provide readers with a fresh take on D-League basketball, Pilato also shared the players who stand out to him as the early standouts of the season, addressed the fate of Pierre Jackson, and more.
