With a decisive 147-128 game three victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in their semi-finals matchup, the Santa Cruz Warriors punched their ticket to the team's second NBA D-League Finals in as many seasons on Monday night.
As the sixth overall seeded team in the minor league, Santa Cruz constantly came into their respective postseason matchups as the underdog this year. The Finals stand to be no different, as they'll face off against the first seeded Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The series begins on Thursday evening, April 24th.
But as Warriors' head coach Casey Hill often notes, each team kicks things off with a fresh slate in the playoffs. Clearly, such a mentality can also be carried out when approaching the NBADL Finals as well. Needless to say, it'll be a competitive series between two teams ready to fight tooth and nail for their shot at ultimate glory.
With that in mind, RidiculousUpside.com will host its fifteen podcast of the season on Tuesday night, fresh off watching Seth Curry, Cameron Jones, and co. propel Santa Cruz to The Finals yet again. Our show is set to serve as a series preview of sorts, certain to get any basketball fan ready to lock in and take in some fun competition while watching the stars of tomorrow.
We go live at 9PM EST / 6PM PST on Tuesday evening.
Joining us to do just that will be a healthy helping of qualified and/or related guests. We'll be talking with guests who know the NBA D-League inside and out, and others who arguably know each of the two remaining teams better than just about anyone else.
Of course, it wouldn't be right kicking things off with anyone else but our good friend Gino Pilato of DLeagueDigest.com. Also calling in will be Reggie Hayes of The News-Sentinel out in Fort Wayne, who covers the Mad Ants at large and does a darn good job at that. What's more, we may also have additional and/or special guests sprinkled in along the way as well, closer to showtime.
We go live at 9PM EST / 6PM PST on Tuesday evening. Be sure tune in and give us a listen by clicking here.
