This coming Sunday, Jordan Farmar will be hitting the hardwood at Madison Square Garden. But alas, there isn't set to be a reunion with the likes of Phil Jackson, Derek Fisher, and Sasha Sasha Vujacic on the Knicks.
Instead, Farmar will lead his international squad, Maccabi Tel Aviv, in a special matchup against fellow NBA veteran Charles Jenkins and Emporio Armani Milano. It'll be an even more unique homecoming for Jenkins, the Queens native and Hofstra grad who played for the Warriors and 76ers from 2011-13.
The two squads will match up, as mentioned, this coming Sunday, October 4th at The World's Most Famous Arena at 12pm. They're also doing so, for charity. In the interest of supporting a great cause, a portion of ticket proceeds will go towards cancer research, via Aces in Action and The V Foundation.
Local fans can click here to purchase tickets and use the promo-code "aces" for access and more information.
Farmar and Jenkins aren't set to be the only notable talents hitting the hardwood for charity, either. The two international squads' rosters boast a bevy of well known NBA, D-League, and training camp alumni. Included are the likes of Vitor Faverani, Robbie Hummel, and Gani Lawal, among other talents.
Aces in Action, coincidentally enough, was started by fellow NBA training camp alum and former D-League draftee Brian Kortovich. Join in and support Kortovich in the fight against cancer, and learn more about his own respective journey, by clicking here, too.
If you're local to the New York City and are interested in seeing some entertaining basketball competition before the NBA season gets underway, this is a great opportunity to do so --- all the while supporting a great cause.
