Darington Hobson Named RidiculousUpside.com Top Prospect For Month of March

With the NBA D-League playoffs steadily approaching, it's becoming more and more apparent which of the league's most talented young guns are making an impact for teams securing postseason spots.

Winning matters in the D-League. As such, the league recently named Scotty Hopson its Player of the Month for March. The Skyforce went 9-2, and recently clinched the Central Division for the first time.

And though Hopson's impact has been undeniable, he's been consistently providing his team with more of the same all year long. He's been a centralized figure all season; a true scoring machine.

Coincidentally enough, the Santa Cruz Warriors bested Sioux Falls by going 11-1 on the month. Unlike the Skyforce, the team has been without some of its more notable figures (James Michael McAdoo and Elliot Williams) for different parts of the month.

With that in mind, one more recent addition has stepped up in a big way as of late to fill any evident voids.

That's none other than Darington Hobson, the NBA alum who re-joined Santa Cruz midseason following a trade to his previous stomping grounds. The forward has been playing out of his mind since returning, filling up an impressive nightly stat-sheet, all the while proving to be much more of a versatile player than we've all seen him be before.

Through twelve games in March, Hobson averaged 18 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. If it appears as though he flirted with a triple-double throughout, it's because he did. The young gun logged two during the month of March, and such similar efforts didn't really waver as the month progressed. He also shot 45% from the field, 42% from deep, and averaged 1.1 steals per contest.

For his impact on Santa Cruz's most recent success, Hobson has earned RidiculousUpside.com's "Top Prospect of the Month" honors for March.
