Vander Blue Leads LA D-Fenders Over Skyforce In Game Two Of 2016 NBADL Finals

Here's a look at how the D-Fenders took down the Skyforce in game two of the 2016 NBADL Finals.

Upon taking their championship quest on the road on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles D-Fenders had their back up against the wall, facing a 1-0 deficit against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. But Vander Blue ensured that one more game wasn't all she wrote for the Lakers affiliate.

Blue led all scorers with 29 points, going as far as playing all 48 minutes in the contest to help his team earn a decisive game two victory. Josh Magette (the RidiculousUpside.com runner-up for the 2015-16 M.V.P. award) also played the entire game, logging 16 points and 10 assists.

In an impressive display of scoring prowess during their 109-102 victory, all five D-Fenders starters scored at least 16 points. As alluded to with the likes of Blue and Magette, the D-Fenders clearly chose to depend rather heavily on their first unit throughout the contest. Fighting for their lives, it was clear Tuesday night was not the time to worry about burning anyone out. This opportunity is everything they've been fighting for all season long. Casey Owens certainly wasn't conservative, but such a decision paid dividends in the form of a victory.

It'll be interesting to see if they carry such momentum with them to Wednesday. They'll need to do that in order come out championship victors. That said, Sioux Falls will have the home crowd on their side once again. The Skyforce can only hope the D-Fenders won't have enough juice left in their collective tank for another go.
