The Knicks signed Morgan State forward Phillip Carr on Tuesday, a source tells RidiculousUpside.com. The Brooklyn, NY native is expected to play for the affiliated Westchester in the NBA G League.

Carr averaged 13.7 points and 9.3 rebounds last season. New York waived Tyrius Walker (also expected to join the minor league club this season) on Tuesday, which presumedly would have allowed them the room to sign Jeff Coby. The club is still widely regarded to part ways with Joakim Noah, which would open up an additional roster spot as well.

Carr was at the team training facility to sign his pact earlier in the day. With New York also set to sign John Jenkins, it’s possible Carr’s deal could send him right to Westchester.
