NBA G League Announces Plans For 2018 National Tryout

The NBA G League announced the details for the 2018 national tryout.

Setting the stage for an array of aspiring basketball players to jumpstart their professional careers, the NBA G League has revealed the details for its annual national tryout, now rebranded as the “Player Invitational.” See below:

Date: Saturday, August 11th, 2018.

Place: The Quest MultiSport in Chicago, IL

Registration: Opens July 11th at 12pm. Prospects can learn more by clicking here.

The national tryout has continued to serve as a springboard for worthwhile G League contributors who sometimes emerge into NBA talents. Current Phoenix Suns guard Shaquille Harrison competed at the showcase of sorts back in the summer 2016.

While all of the players hit the hardwood hoping for a look, they aren’t the only ones under observation throughout the day. The tryout’s group of referees are also strutting their stuff in hopes of securing a G League job for the upcoming season. In addition, the coaches who lead the youngsters through battle are usually former NBA, G League, and WNBA players who are looking to transition to coaching full-time. Among those who have started their coaching careers at the session include three-time NBA champion and current Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach James Posey and Texas Legends assistant coach Zendon Hamilton.
