The Westchester Knicks will kick off their sixth season in the NBA G League as the affiliate for the New York Knicks. Like the previous five seasons, the Knicks’ home games will be held at the Westchester County Center. Their season opener will take place at home on Nov. 9 against the Raptors 905. The full schedule can be viewed here.
The two games at the Winter Showcase are considered a “home” and “away” game. 2 Ways & 10 Days reported the Showcase will return to Las Vegas and will take place on the same days (Dec. 19–22) as last year. The Knicks will likely face off against two Western Conference teams at the event and a total of five non-conference games (Santa Cruz Warriors, Salt Lake City Stars, and Iowa Wolves).
The league has reduced the number of back-to-backs this season. The Knicks are slated for five back-to-backs this season, which is equal to last season and slightly below the league average of six.
Westchester will face off against each Atlantic Division team (Delaware Blue Coats, Long Island Nets, Maine Red Claws, and Raptors 905) four times during the season. The Knicks will host the College Park Skyhawks on Dec. 30. The two teams will meet for the final time three days later in the Skyhawks’ new home, the Gateway Center.
The Erie BayHawks are the lone expansion team this season after the New Orleans Pelicans took over the team after the Atlanta Hawks relocated their affiliate to College Park, Georgia. Westchester will take on Erie three times this season (one home and two away games).
Unlike the previous seasons, the Knicks won’t have a four-game west coast road trip. Their longest time away from home is from Dec. 7 until their final Winter Showcase game. Westchester has four aways games in Erie, Long Island, Greensboro, and Canton.
The Knicks face the toughest part of their schedule in the final two weeks of the season. Westchester will play eight games, which include five road games. One of their home games will be their School Day game on Mar. 19 against the Delaware Blue Coats. The Knicks wrap up their season with a home-and-home against the Long Island Nets. The final game of the season is on Mar. 28.
