The Westchester Knicks had a solid week 12 by going 2-1 and the team looked to put more wins together. The Knicks started the week on the road with a pair of matinee games against the Iowa Wolves and Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Westchester wrapped up the week at home against the Canton Charge.
Ivan Rabb’s 33 Point & 13 Rebound Double-Double, Kadeem Allen’s Clutch 7 Points In Final 69 Seconds Lift Westchester To 126-123 Win Over Iowa Wolves
The Westchester Knicks trailed by double digits (63-53) after the first half, but cut their deficit to six points (98-92) heading into the fourth quarter. In a seven minute stretch, the Knicks outscored their opponents 21-12 and tied the score at 115. Kadeem Allen connected on a couple of clutch baskets, along with three huge free throws, to propel Westchester to a 126-123 victory over Iowa.
Ivan Rabb led Westchester with 33 points (career high) and 13 rebounds on 13-of-17 shooting from the field. Kadeem Allen finished with 24 points and seven assists on 50 percent shooting. Ignas Brazdeikis recorded 24 points and six rebounds. Zak Irvin tallied 23 points and three steals on a near perfect 9-of-11 from the field.
Knicks Fall To Fort Wayne Mad Ants In Matinee Meeting
With three players out due to injury and Kadeem Allen & Ignas Brazdeikis with the New York Knicks, Westchester were shorthanded in Thursday’s matinee against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The Knicks were in striking distance after two quarters of play and were down 64-59. Fort Wayne kept it rolling in the second half by outscoring Westchester by 14 points, as the Knicks fell to the Mad Ants, 131-112.
Ivan Rabb posted his second double-double (25 points and 12 rebounds) of the week. Andrew White III finished with 19 points and three steals on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from three. Tim Bond recorded 11 points and 11 assists. Zak Irvin (15), Amir Hinton (14), V.J. King (13), and J.J. Moore (10) finished in double figures.
Westchester Suffers Tough Triple Overtime Loss To Canton Charge
Westchester ended the first quarter on a good note with a corner three from Amir Hinton, which resulted in the Knicks outscoring the Charge 27-25. The two teams were evenly matched in the second quarter and Westchester held a two-point lead at the half. Ignas Brazdeikis converted a four-point play on the final offensive possession for the Knicks.
The Knicks started the third quarter on an 11-2 run and took their largest lead of the game three minutes and 14 seconds into the second half. Brazdeikis had a strong and efficient quarter where he totaled 12 points on 5-of-7 from the field and connected on two triples.
Canton outscored Westchester in the fourth quarter to force overtime. J.P. Macura scored a layup to force a second overtime then drained a three-pointer to tie the score and force a third overtime. Levi Randolph scored five of his 47 points in the third overtime to give the Charge a 124-120 win.
Ignas Brazdeikis led Westchester with 32 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals on 9-of-19 shooting from the field. Ivan Rabb recorded 23 points and 15 rebounds on 66.6 percent shooting. Kadeem Allen finished with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists. J.J. Moore tallied 14 points and five rebounds on 6-of-11 from the field.
