2019-20 Westchester Knicks Season Recap: Andrew White III

After competing with the New York Knicks in Summer League, the organization was impressed with Andrew White III and wanted to get an extended look at him. During the offseason, the Westchester Knicks acquired his returning rights from the Maine Red Claws. He was a player to follow from the start of the season due to his 3&D potential.

White III started off the season on a high note by scoring in double figures in his first five games. The third-year forward scored 30-plus points in two straight games in that stretch, while shooting a scorching 80 percent (20/25) from beyond the arc in three games. He is a known three-point shooter and was a player to follow as an NBA call-up candidate early in the season.

White III had many efficient shooting games during the 2019-20 season. Over the course of 11 games in December and January, he scored in double figures in nine games. The 6’7” forward converted on 42.4 percent of his threes from the right corner, 41.0 percent from the left wing, and 40.7 percent from the top of the key in the season.

In the second game of the season, he posted 39 points and drained nine perimeter shots. The 39 points is tied for the fifth most points scored in a game and the nine threes made in a game is tied for second most in the franchise. His three-point percentage (39.0) ranked fifth on the team.
