After averaging 14.8 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting nearly 40 percent (39.2) from deep as a freshman at Michigan, Ignas Brazdeikis entered his name in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was selected with the No. 47 selection by the Sacramento Kings then was traded to the New York Knicks. The Michigan product played in three NBA games before making his debut in the G League.
Brazdeikis started off his G League career with 15 points, three steals, and drained three triples against the Lakeland Magic. He followed that up 36 points and six rebounds, while shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Brazdeikis saw extending playing time in Westchester where he was able to develop his game and get adjusted to the pro game. He’s a versatile scorer who showed his ability to get to the rim and showed to be a good shooter. Brazdeikis went on a superb scoring streak where he averaged 24.7 points on 52 percent shooting in a 13-game stretch from December 17 to February 8.
The Knicks forward was aggressive on the glass and showed to be a willing passer with Westchester. He finished with nine-plus rebounds in seven games, while dishing five or more assists on seven occasions.
