SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Golden State of Mind discussing their selection of Malcolm Brogdon.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #30 -- Malcolm Brogdon, Small Forward, Virginia

SBNation's Warriors blog, Golden State of Mind, explains this pick:

The Warriors' obvious need in this draft after falling short of a title is clearly depth in the frontcourt. However when you look at a contender with 8 free agents, grabbing a player who has the best shot of contributing right away becomes more important because so many at this point don't make it.

When you watch Brogdon, his ability to pass, shoot coming off screens, and play within the team concept makes him a clear fit for the way the Warriors are supposed to play. Defensively, there are concerns about athleticism but I'm reminded of what a Washington State fan told me about Klay Thompson: you don't play that many minutes for Tony Bennett if you don't know how to play defense.

Brogdon is probably the most NBA ready player available, which makes this an easy pick despite his age: the Warriors' time is now and they need guys who can contribute.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: With the final pick of the 2016 SBNation NBA mock draft, the Warriors select a player that will be able to contribute from Day 1. Like the Golden State of Mind editor stated, Brogdon's such a valuable pick because he can contribute in a variety of ways: facilitating, perimeter shooters and being a great team defender. Even with the concerns surrounding his lackluster athleticism, those traits should immediately make him into a solid piece on the Warriors.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Pounding the Rock discussing their selection of Damian Jones.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #29 -- Damian Jones, Power Forward, Vanderbilt

SBNation's San Antonio Spurs blog, Pounding the Rock, explains their pick:

Over the course of his career with the Spurs, Damian Jones' had struggles with an inconsistent motor and feel for the game, which could get him in Pop's doghouse as a rookie. This low in the draft, however, his upside is just too high to pass up. Seven-footers with his mobility and explosiveness are rare and while he didn't improve much in his junior year, his game might be better-suited for the NBA, where he will be asked to just be a finisher on offense.

The Spurs need to get young and more athletic in the front court and Jones helps there. If the developmental staff can get him to improve his free throw shooting and his defensive awareness gets a little better, he could be a steal.

Ridiculous Upside: The Spurs history of making great selections would continue if they pick Damian Jones. While there are concerns about his motor and basketball IQ, he definitely has a lot of upside. That is due to his athleticism, aggression and developing offensive skill set.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Grizzly Bear Blues discussing their selection of Ivica Zubac.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #28 -- Ivica Zubac, Center, Croatia

SBNation's Memphis Grizzlies blog, Grizzly Bear Blues, explains the pick:

With the 28th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select Ivica Zubac, Center, Mega Leks, originally from Bosnia and Herzagovina. The Grizzlies acquired Shelvin Mack and 42 overall in the draft plus this pick for 17 overall, and we are excited to bring Zubac to Memphis with this pick. Marc Gasol isn't getting any younger, and the team is seriously lacking size in the front court. Enter Ivica, who not only brings a 7'1" 265 frame to the Bluff City, but also an expansive offensive game, especially considering he is only 19 years old.

He dominated competition at such a young age overseas, showing soft hands and above average mobility for a young man his size, and we believe that noted developer of talent new Grizz HC David Fizdale can continue to grow his game on both sides of the court. Plus, he has a great mentor in Gasol, who also happens to be 7'1", 265 pounds (give or take a Soul Burger from Memphis' famed Earnestine and Hazel's bar) and a bit of an offensive dynamo. The Grizzlies would look for their wing help at 42 overall in this situation (Malcolm Brogdon, Ron Baker, etc.) and then also in free agency.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: Grizzly Bear Blues is right on with their analysis on Zubac, as he has an already solid offensive arsenal with the high upside. While he may need another year overseas to fine-tune his skills, Zubac can definitely become that solid center presence that the Grizzlies will need once Marc Gasol's prime years are behind him.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Raptors HQ discussing their selection of Brice Johnson.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #27 -- Brice Johnson, Power Forward, North Carolina

SBNation's Toronto Raptors blog, Raptors HQ, explains this pick.

With the 27th pick of the Draft, the Raptors are looking for players able to contribute right away or prospects they can stash overseas. North Carolina senior Brice Johnson, a 6'9" athletic marvel, represents the former. With Toronto undoubtedly also looking for help in its frontcourt, Johnson should be able to provide the team with hustle on the boards, a strong finishing game at the rim, and a defensive presence in the paint.

Assuming Bismack Biyombo leaves through free agency, and with question marks still surrounding Lucas Nogueira, the Raptors will want Johnson to shore-up their frontline rotation. Pairing him with high-usage players like Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan as a pick-and-roll finisher or glass cleaner should also complement Johnson's nascent skill set. For a late first round pick, there is a lot of upside here.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: With the selection of Brice Johnson, the Toronto Raptors acquire a player that could contribute to the team from Day 1. Johnson's style of play is actually reminiscent of former UNC big Ed Davis in the sheer energy and effort that he exhibits. That's evident in his work as a cutter or on the offensive glass (averaged 4.1 offensive boards per 40 minutes),

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Liberty Ballers discussing their selection of Isaia Cordinier.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #26 -- Isaia Cordinier, Point Guard, France

SBNation's Philadelphia 76ers blog, Liberty Ballers, explains their pick:

With the 26th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select Isaia Cordinier, guard out Denain (French second division), originally from France. We hope that, by giving Cordinier a first round promise, we would subsequently get a guarantee that he would play one more year overseas and continue to develop his game.

The pick is as much of a pick due to roster constraints as it is our assessment of Cordinier's abilities - we expect to integrate at least four NBA rookies already next season, and with our stated desire to bring in veterans and improve moderately in the short-term, a draft-and-stash makes the most sense in this spot. Cordinier though is the type of athlete - with a promising jumper and always-revving motor - that we're willing to spend the time to develop, and he fits well with the type of team we're looking to build.

After a jam-packed first round, it makes a load of sense for the Sixers to use a late-1st round pick for a draft-and-stash option. As Liberty Ballers mentioned, Cordinier has plenty of upside due to his high-motor and solid perimeter jumper. However, Cordinier would need more experience playing against better competition, as he only played one year in France's Pro B league, their equivalent of the NBA D-League.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Bright Side of the Sun discussing their trade and subsequent selection of Gary Payton Jr.

Mock Draft Pick #25 -- Gary Payton Jr, Point Guard, Oregon State

The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a trade. The Clippers will trade the 25th pick and Paul Pierce. The Suns trade PJ Tucker.

SB Nation's Phoenix Suns blog, Bright Side of the Sun, explains the trade and subsequent pick:

With all the youth on the Suns roster, and the trade of Brandon Knight earlier in the draft, the Suns really need a backup PG who can bring the defense when Bledsoe needs a breather. The free agent point guard list isn't very talented, so the Suns would rather groom Ronnie Price's replacement on a cheap contract, and Gary Payton II really fits that bill. Payton was first team All-PAC 12 and first-team All-Defense as a point guard the last two years at Oregon State.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: Phoenix's solid draft continues with the selection of Gary Payton Jr. As mentioned in a recent Ridiculous Upside piece, Payton stood as one of the best defenders in college hoops during his time with Oregon State. Standing at 6'3 with a 6'8 wingspan, he was able to use that frame to a great defender, while also showing great flashes as an on-ball cutter.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Liberty Ballers discussing their selection of DeAndre Bembry.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #24 -- DeAndre Bembry, Forward, St. Joseph's

SB Nation's Philadelphia 76ers blog, Liberty Ballers, explains their pick:

With the 24th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select DeAndre' Bembry, guard/forward out of St. Joseph's University. The junior is a local product, and we're thrilled at add him. He was 17th on our staff big board, and getting him deep in the first round of the draft is a coup. Aside from when Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor stepped on each other's toes, the Sixers' biggest offensive struggles involved shot creation. Adding Bembry, Ben Simmons, and (hopefully) Dario Saric gives the Sixers three plus-passers for their positions, which is three more than they had at any point last season for any spot on the floor. We additionally like his defensive versatility and will be sending him to shooting camp (with Simmons) as soon as humanly possible.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: With the selection of DeAndre Bembry, the 76ers basically selected the east coast version of Ben Simmons. While four inches shorter than Simmons (Bembry stands 6'5 with a 6'9 wingspan), he still has a lot of the same attributes as Bembry. Both players are terrific facilitators for their position, with the ability to drive to the paint whenever they desire. Of course, Bembry also shares those same shooting struggles as the LSU alum. With that said, Bembry has the makings to be a fantastic role player due to the aforementioned court vision, cutting and solid defensive instincts.

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft, with Detroit Bad Boys discussing their selection of Tyler Ulis.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #23 -- Tyler Ulis, Point Guard, Kentucky

SBNation's Detroit Pistons blog, Detroit Bad Boys, explains their selection:

Stocking up on point guards might feel like a very Khan-y move, but it's no secret the Pistons want a better back up option than Steve Blake, especially after recently trading Spencer Dinwiddie to the Bulls.

By trading for hometown favorite Trey Burke and keeping a first round pick, this gives the Pistons the ability to have a small PG Death Match. No matter who rises to the top, these back up point guards will be better than what the Pistons had in 2015-2016. If Ulis is the pick at No. 18 (which we think he probably should be), then getting him at No. 23 with insurance is even better.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: Detroit's continued pursuit of smaller offensive-minded point guards continue with Tyler Ulis. The 5'9 Ulis stood as one of the best players in college hoops last year, averaging 17.3 points, 7.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game on 43% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc. Despite his small frame, Ulis established himself as a great cutter as he utilized his incredible basketball IQ and quickness to regularly get to the paint. That great basketball IQ is evident by Ulis maintaining a fantastic 3.54 Ast/TO ratio.
