help wanted
No, this is not a job posting. You all can go to craigslist for that. What I am looking for help with is the same thing many teams in the NBA are constantly in need of: tough, talented big men.
I am from Northern CA, and follow the Kings, and have as a child. I am not a complete homer, however, and I appreciate basketball in all forms as well as locations. Heck, I even watched some WNBA this season.
But I cannot help but mourn the fact that the Kings are lacking in frontcourt depth. They have some good young big men who were lottery picks. But they lack any real defensive presence around the hoop. They have little money to spend, but I personally don't think that means you turn to Sean May.
So, you avid authors and readers of RU, I turn to you. I beseech you. I implore you. The Kings, as well as a dozen or so other NBA teams, are in need of help in finding big men. Which D-Leaguers, if any, do you recommend? Why?
So there is my help wanted add. Inquire within.

My best pick is Rod Benson
can Boom Tho survive in Sac-Town? Methinks yes.
plus, if he doesn’t do well, they can send him back down.
I am freaking out because Petrie’s free agent pick-ups so far are Sean May, Desmond Mason (yeah, I know) and Ime Udoka.

Garret Siler
He was just drafted and did well in summer league. Plus he’d be cheap. He’s a good talent.

i freaking love the idea of Garret Siler,
he obviously has to work on some conditioning, but i think he could help an NBA team in need of a big man for 6 or 7 minutes a game.
if he gets drafted by Utah’s affiliate, and Utah already is loaded with talented big men, then how would another tea obtain him?

Any NBA team can call up a D-League player at any time.
If a D-League player has never been drafted by an NBA team, and doesn’t have his rights retained by an NBA team then he’s fair game. The only players that cannot be called up by just any team are those who were drafted and sent to the D-League (read: NBA rookies and second year players trying to get burn). Demarcus Nelson was playing for the Spurs affiliate last year before being called-up by the Bulls. More often than not regular D-League players get call-ups from NBA teams that are not affiliated with their D-League team.

Who are everyone’s favorite big men in the D-league this year?
