The NBA D-League has grown leaps and bounds over the years and this season has been no different. There has been an abundance of exciting, young talent on display through the opening three months of the 2013-2014 campaign and many hopefuls have already been rewarded with the golden ticket: A call-up to the NBA. In fact, so far this season, the D-League has seen a total of 16 call-ups and 113 assignments, comprised of 47 different players.
With a lot already accomplished, February 15th will mark a break in the calendar, as the best of the best will meet in New Orleans to represent the D-League in the eight annual All-Star game. With two weeks to go before the big event, the D-League has unveiled the rosters for the game, which are made up of 16 players with NBA experience as well as some new faces.
The 20 players selected to join in on the festivities were chosen by the 17 head coaches and then split up into two teams: The Futures and Prospects. Players must have appeared in at least half of their team's games, which explains why top prospects like Terrence Williams and Kevin Murphy were not recognised for either team.
Seeing as nearly 69 percent of the D-League's All-Stars have, in some form, earned NBA experience since its inception seven years ago, the weekend is full of excitement. Last season, the MVP of the game, Travis Leslie, earned a call-up to the Utah Jazz on a 10-day contract following his dominant performance. The year before that, Gerald Green - an integral piece for the Phoenix Suns this season - signed a 10-day contract with the New Jersey Nets and hasn't looked back since. There are bound to be more success stories following the game this season, which is why it's an event to keep your eye on.
But without further ado, below is a list of both rosters, courtesy of the D-League's official site.
