The New York Knicks continue to build their roster for the Westchester Knicks for the season. The team’s latest signing was Billy Garrett, who inked an Exhibit 10 deal with New York, per Ian Begley of ESPN.
Following four years at DePaul, Garrett made the Westchester Knicks’ 2017-18 roster through a team tryout. He spent his rookie season in Westchester where he saw his role increase as the season progressed. With the depth the team possessed, Garrett was the first guard off the bench and played off the ball early in the season.
The Knicks’ roster started to shake up as the season went on— Trey Burke was called up in January and Xavier Rathan-Mayes earned a call-up in March— the 6’6” guard started to run the point and entered the starting rotation in February. Garrett averaged 11.9 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steal on 45.2 percent from the field in 27.2 minutes per game.
After his rookie season, the former DePaul guard joined the New York Knicks for Summer League.
As the G League season nears, the Westchester Knicks are continuing to fill out their roster. The team will feature New York’s two two-way players, Isaiah Hicks and Allonzo Trier. The Knicks brought in Phillip Carr and John Jenkins on Exhibit 10 deal, as reported by Ridiculous Upside. In August, the team added Duje Dukan and Stephen Zimmerman in two separate trades with the Capital City Go-Go.
