NBA Mock Draft Pick #30 — Melvin Frazier, Guard, Tulane
SB Nation’s Atlanta Hawks blog Peachtree Hoops explains the pick:
This is essentially a no-brainer. Frazier was in heavy consideration for the Hawks at No. 19 overall and he is the best available player on the board. With high-end athleticism at a 7’2 wingspan, Frazier has the look of a potentially dominant defensive wing and, when paired with Jaren Jackson Jr. and DeAnthony Melton, Atlanta’s identity under head coach Lloyd Pierce comes into view.
Frazier will need to prove that he’s an average (or better) three-point shooter but he has every physical tool required to be a modern 3-and-D wing. That is a fantastic value at No. 30.
