NBA Mock Draft Pick #7 - Coby White, Guard, North Carolina
SB Nation’s Chicago Bulls blog Blog A Bull explains the pick:
Coby White would give the Bulls a shifty lead guard with tremendous shot-making ability who can spike a team’s offensive tempo all by himself. As a freshman, White was the engine of a North Carolina offense that was fast and efficient, showcasing a variety of skills that are in line with what today’s NBA demands out of its guards. He can play either guard spot at 6’5 and should offer elite catch-and-shoot ability early in his career. Known more as a scorer than a facilitator coming into college, White transitioned to a full-time point guard at UNC with impressive ease. While he’s still developing as a facilitator, his playmaking ability feels more an area where he can grow than a long-term limitation. Whether he ends up as the Bulls’ point guard of the future or a scoring combo guard who works best as a sixth man, White’s ability to get off three-pointers with volume and accuracy while playing with pace makes him a worthy pick at No. 7.
