Gyorgy Goloman Showcases Talent, Picked Up Confidence In Rookie Season With Westchester Knicks

After making the Westchester Knicks through a team tryout, Gyorgy Goloman showcases his skillset and had many impressive performances in his rookie season.

After wrapping up his collegiate career at UCLA, Gyorgy Goloman used a G League tryout for his first opportunity in his professional career. He became the eighth player to make the Dub Knicks’ opening night roster as a tryout player. The G League presents opportunity and that’s all Goloman needed.

He started out his rookie season with a 12 point (5-of-5 from the field) and four rebound performance against the Maine Red Claws. He had a similar impact in the following game when he finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and one block.

His playing time fluctuated throughout his rookie season. Goloman always made the most out of his playing time and consistently tried to make an impact when he was on the floor. His ability to play the four and five, and hit and drain perimeter shots brought value in Westchester’s frontcourt.

The 6’11” big man saw his minutes increase in December and the first half of January. He participated in his first Winter Showcase, which he detailed in his second Rookie Diary, and had some solid outings during that six week stretch. Goloman finished the season by recording 11 points, five rebounds, and two blocks in the season finale against the Erie BayHawks.
