Ivan Rabb started out his third season as a two-way player for the New York Knicks. From the start of the season, he showed to be a presence on the glass. Rabb totaled 10 rebounds in each of his first two games, while scoring in double figures in eight straight games.
After getting waived from his two-way contract, he returned to Westchester. Rabb felt he was playing with a fire under him and recorded seven straight double-doubles. In that stretch, he totaled 33 points on 76.5 percent shooting from the field against the Iowa Wolves. Rabb missed three games from February 19-23 when he competed with the February 2020 USA AmeriCup Qualifying Team.
The third-year forward made an impact with his aggressiveness on the glass, interior presence, and defense. He finished the season as the No. 2 rebounder in the G League and was in the top 10 in offensive boards. Rabb would often create second chance opportunities and give Westchester more chances on offense. He did most of his damage within nine feet of the basket where he converted on 65.7 percent of his attempts.
Rabb tied the franchise’s record for rebounds in a game (20) on Jan. 2 then broke that record on Mar. 6 with 24 boards. His 351 rebounds is the most in a single season. Rabb’s 19 double-doubles is a franchise record in that statistical category.
