Adreian Payne, former Michigan State basketball star and first-round NBA Draft pick, shot and killed at 31


Former Michigan State star and NBA first-round pick Adreian Payne, a key part of the Spartans' 2014 Elite Eight run who made 94 starts in four seasons with the program from 2010-14, died Monday morning after being shot, authorities in Orlando, Florida, said. He was 31 years old. The Orange County Sheriff's department arrested Lawrence Dority on a warrant for First Degree murder in connection to the shooting of Payne. Payne was transported to the hospital after being shot, where he was pronounced dead.
