Former NBADL Camp Invitee Roshun Wynne Jr. Eyes 2014 NBA D-League Draft

Roshun Wynne Jr.

With the 2014 NBA D-League Draft nearly two weeks away, Roshun Wynne Jr. is among those young guns for an opportunity, he tells RidiculousUpside.com.

With just over two weeks remaining until the 2014 NBA D-League Draft, it's worth noting which aspiring prospects are hoping to jumpstart their journeys to becoming professional athletes.

Who is eligible to be selected?

One of the players hoping to warrant a look from a D-League team is Roshun Wynne Jr., the Cal State East Bay product who spent training camp with the Sioux Falls Skyforce last fall.

After briefly trying things overseas, Wynne Jr. is looking to remain closer to home.

Speaking with RidiculousUpside.com, the young gun referred to himself as "one of the last true standing original point guards." He likes to create opportunities for his teammates, but otherwise prefers to let his defense do the talking for his game.

As he puts in the work and gets ready to potentially compete for a spot in training camp (those drafted in the D-League Draft receive invites to camp, as opposed to a guaranteed spot), Wynne Jr. spent plenty of time in Sacramento this past summer, working out with Guss Armstead.

Armstead, who runs the Sacramento Summer Pro League (in which Wynne Jr. also participated in), is a well known basketball trainer on the west coast. He's worked out with D-League alums like James Nunnally and Zach Andrews, among others.

Having watched the players he's worked with in the past rise to greater heights in most recent years, it's safe to say Armstead is a good guy to have in one's corner. Such a relationship will only aid Wynne Jr., who hopes he has the opportunity to further prove it on the court come early November.

In the meantime, Wynne Jr. has been attempting to turn heads and make some noise via the open tryout process. The guard has participated in tryouts for teams like the Reno Bighorns and Bakersfield Jam, he told RidiculousUpside.com.
