J.R. Inman Eyes Minor League Return Upon Entering 2014 NBA D-League Draft

Former Delaware 87ers' big man J.R. Inman has entered the 2014 NBA D-League Draft, a source tells RidiculousUpside.com.

Just last season, J.R. Inman was part of the Delaware 87ers' youth movement as the 76ers' affiliate mixed and matched different players together while exploring various lineups throughout the year.

Of course, the benefit to this is that everyone is guaranteed to receive a chance to shine. The caveat, however, is that as the team rotated players in and out, such an opportunity could turn out to be too short-lived.

Nevertheless, Inman impressed in the time he was given. Appearing in sixteen contests for Delaware (starting 14), the big man averaged 9.6 points (on 48% from the field and 38% from deep) and 6.3 rebounds.

Having been since released by the 87ers, the former Rutgers standout is looking to pick up where he left out with a fresh new start in the D-League. Inman has entered the 2014 NBADL Draft, RidiculousUpside.com has learned.

Not many aspiring draftees have a D-League track record that already speaks for itself. Given the success he amassed through the early goings of last season, there's no doubt Inman warrants another look. He may have to develop a bit more consistency in his game, but a prospect often needs to be given ample opportunity in order to do so.

Looking to remind teams what he can do leading up to November 1st, Inman attended workouts with the Westchester Knicks, among others, this past fall.

UPDATE: Inman has since been claimed and will indeed be spending training camp with the Westchester Knicks:
