NBA D-League Names Five All-Star Game Replacement Players

Five top prospects were announced as replacements in the 2014 NBA Development League All-Star Game.

USA TODAY Sports

Four out of five correct isn't such a bad track record.

Following the NBA D-League's announcement of All-Star Game rosters last week, we put together a list of the five most glaring omissions.

Of course, between player call-ups, NBA assignments, etc., the minor league is one full of an array of player movement and turnaround almost on a daily basis. With that in mind, five of the originally selected All-Stars needed to be replaced in anticipation of the big game this weekend.

Ironically enough, four out of our five suggestions filled those very spots. For more information, see below for the D-League's official announcement of All-Star replacements:

Five top prospects were today announced as replacements in the 2014 NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire, which will air live on NBA TV at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Sprint Arena inside NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

On the Futures team, Mo Charlo (Reno) will replace Malcolm Thomas (Los Angeles) and Arinze Onuaku (Canton) will replace Dewane Dedmon (Santa Cruz). On the Prospects roster, Dee Bost (Idaho) will replace Jarvis Varnado (Iowa), Cameron Jones (Santa Cruz) will replace Isaiah Canaan (Rio Grande Valley) and James Nunnally (Bakersfield) will replace Chris Johnson (Rio Grande Valley).
