NBA Mock Draft Pick #2 —Luka Doncic, Guard
SBNation’s Sacramento Kings blog Sactown Royalty explains the pick:
With Deandre Ayton going to the Suns at #1, the Kings get the easy decision of taking the most decorated young European star ever, winner of the Euroleague MVP at just 19 years old. While Marvin Bagley III and Michael Porter Jr. both deserve consideration for this pick, Doncic’s ability to make teammates better with his playmaking, scoring and his considerable success against professional competition make him a perfect option for a young Kings team in need of a star.
Between Doncic, De’Aaron Fox, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Frank Mason III, the Kings will always be able to field multiple playmakers at any time. With Doncic and the other young guys in tow, the Kings should be an exciting young team on the upswing. The Kings received a few offers for the #2 pick but the chance to draft a future star was too much to pass up.
