I know this got started a few years ago, and I was wondering if it ever got going, if it's still going, or if there would be any interest in getting it restarted.
Not sure if Santa Cruz Warriors' head coach Casey Hill has any plans to go to Disney World, but the first answer to "YOU JUST WON THE NBA D-LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW?" was.... Buy a selfie stick. He's seen above with swingman Darington Hobson, courtesy of our pal Kevin Danna.
As our buddy Tim Cato of Mavs Moneyball alludes to, Mavericks' assignee Dwight Powell has been on an absolute tear with the Texas Legends. It's great that he's getting an opportunity to strut his stuff. A source tells RidiculousUpside.com that Celtics' brass was very high on the forward, despite including him in the Rajon Rondo deal.
Obviously this tweet from Damien Wilkins, a nine-year NBA veteran, recongizes the type of commitment D-League coaches (in this case, Iowa Energy assistant Matthew Woodley) have to the development of their players. It's great to see. Furthermore, those call-up numbers, as we head to the end of the season, are rather astounding. Take a look.
The second round of the NBA D-League Playoffs is set. Both series' will begin on Thursday so we'll have a preview before then.
Jeremy Lin messed around and gets a triple-double in the D-League for the Erie BayHawks on Friday night. I wrote about it for Pro Basketball Talk.
You're not going to find a better picture than this on the internet. Long live Brian Butch (via the Hornets' media day picture gallery)!
The Canton Charge unveiled their jerseys today. The look is very Cleveland Cavaliersesque (which was probably the point).
