Last week, the Boston Celtics became one of the first teams to start putting together their training camp roster. One of the players signed was former Eastern Kentucky guard Corey Walden. With the team, Walden averaged 18.5 points and 4 assists per game on 54% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc. This compilation shows how he was able to accomplish that.
Austin Spurs alum Jonathon Simmons finished his fantastic Summer League performance by putting up 23 points on 7-for-14 shooting in the Summer League Finals. That play ultimately lead to Simmons being awarded the Summer League MVP
D-League All-Star Khem Birch has been thriving in Vegas Summer League, as he's been one of the big keys behind the Pelicans undefeated run. In Vegas, Birch has averaged 9.4 points (on 69% shooting), 8.6 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game. That production was elevated by Birch throwing down this massive flush on Warriors rookie Kevon Looney.
D-League alum and Knicks prospect Thanasis Antetokounmpo put up 17 points on 7-for-7 shooting in the team's win against the Bucks. Antetokounmpo was able to accomplish that through a varying amount of cuts in both transition and half-court sets.
Former D-League stud Jeremy Tyler erupted for a 25 point (11-15 shooting) and 11 rebounds in a Summer League performance for Dallas. Tyler was able to accomplish through various ways which included: cuts to the rim, mid-range jumpers and offensive rebounds.
Former Reno Bighorns' guard Brandon Armstrong does a pretty good Russell Westbrook impersonation.
Former Sioux Falls Skyforce guard Scotty Hopson has continued to flourish with the D-League Select Team as he erupted for 20 points on 7-10 shooting. In his first two D-League games, Hopson has averaged 23.5 points on 57% shooting.
Former Erie Bayhawk and D-League All-Star Seth Curry had a fantastic performance On Friday afternoon against Milwaukee. For the Pelicans, Curry put up 30 points on 9-17 shooting.
In his Vegas Summer League debut, the former Santa Cruz prospect had a fantastic 20 point (8-13 shooting) and 7 rebounds in a matchup against Cleveland. McAdoo accomplish that through a slew of hard cuts and a little mid-range jumper, which was a skill that he didn't have last season.
Former RGV Viper and D-League Dunk Contest champ Jarvis Threatt has started attending individual team workouts, with the hopes of being picked in this month's draft. Over the last few days, Threatt has participated in workouts with the 76ers and Wizards. Especially for a team like Philadelphia that has a bevy of late 2nd round picks and a hole in the back-court, somebody like Threatt may become an intriguing prospect.
