Springfield Armor Dance Team?
[Just thought I'd update this since there was apparently some interest back in the day. From the press release, I've gleaned that the team will be called the Armorettes, dancers have to be at least 18 and it costs $25 to tryout.]
As a man who has grown up in Western MA and lived here all my life, I found that I was incredibly enthusiastic to hear that the NBA D-League would be expanding in our area. Although I am personally not a fan of the chosen mascot, I still feel this could go in a great direction.
So my question now is will the franchaise add a dance team, mascot, ect. as most other D-League teams have done?? Personally, I am not aware of many dance teams in the area, and I think it's about time we saw a little more. I've seen the Falcons "Ice Cast" once or twice, and was pretty indifferent on them. They're not a horrible looking group of ladies, and their dancing skills were short of spectacular, but they weren't "bad." I'm hoping the D-League affiliation at the Mass Mutual Center will kick this up a notch.
Anyone hear anything regarding the future of something like this? What in gods name do you call a dance team for the Armor?? Let's hope their uniforms don't try to match the mascot if there is one... Anyone have any opinions on what they'd like to see from a group of ladies representing the Armor?? Or do you think a dance team is unnecessary? I'm curious to hear takes on this...

I really hope they name the mascot...
Army….because that would make me s*** myself with laughter. I honestly can’t wait for your team to release this info. I’m not sure if you’re familiar, but we will cover the dance squads regularly here at RU.
BTW, thanks for fanposting!!! We hope to see more of you on here.

Also I think they name the Dance Team....
the Chain Mailles. And then to complete the pun they hire an all-transvestite dance group.

I like it!
Because Springfield definitely isn’t lacking any of those, especially around the MMC
Who needs classy, attractive women when you can have the club rats! Chain Mailles it is

Then they could get the mascot to only work the first half of a game
and say “Army had half a day.”
Now writing for Ridiculous Upside, now with more draft coverage.

Armor names....
Oh that’s a wonderfully ripe field.
The obvious, boring choices are things like the Paladin, the Knight, et-cet-er-a.
But I’d love to see the armor “Plate” dancing with the Bucklers or Greaves or some other ridiculous name for the girls. Cuisses? Gambisons? the mascot can be the Cuirass (look up how it’s pronounced and let it soak in)? It’s just such a wonderful world available.
But the mascot will be nicknamed Moltar, as was previously pointed out, no matter what his real name is.

Well...
It never really says you have to be FEMALE does it?? Think I’d be a good addition? Haha… Armorettes, huh?? Eh… Kinda boring. Let’s hope the team itself isn’t…
And there is still hope for Moltar, I mean, the mascot!!

I'm hoping he has an inexplicable giant hammer...
as part of the costume. Like he’s some kind of Robot-Blacksmith.
