I didn't notice too many changes, but Lance Stephenson at 24 seems pretty random.

yes, but,

did you see Malone go after rebounds when he was 19 years old? (I’m thinking perhaps not since Malone was 19 in 1974? ; ))

I’m not usually big on all these player comparisons as I just don’t understand why we can’t let people just “be” who they are, but I suppose the comparisons are necessary to some degree and are really great for discussion and all but I think they are done with a players potential in mind, don’t you?

Obviously, Cousins isn’t Malone right now. Duh, it would be silly to think that. But, that doesn’t mean he can’t be. Don’t count him out just yet.

Didn’t mean to interrupt you gentleman’s conversation here, I know that’s rude, but I demand (that’s demand in a very nice and respectful way, though : )) that Cousins not be discounted as the next Malone. He might not be, but then again he could very well be, too.

I did not see Malone rebound when he was 19. Really, I only saw him in his prime (during the Philly years) while watching ESPN Classic and the like.
I’m not saying Cousins isn’t the next Malone, I just think there are better comparisons at the time. I’m all for comparisons being the ceiling of someone, but that’s a pretty high ceiling to set.
Could he develop to be a Malone-type player? Maybe - but I don’t think he’ll have 16 NBA seasons of 10+ boards.

Derrick Coleman,

a little beefier. That’s your scaaaary Cousins comparison.

He has a lot more of the face-up skills Coleman had, too, or at least he played almost exclusively that way in High School. Malone, not so much.

Stephson at 24 shouldn’t be random. I told you a month ago he had already been guaranteed the 25th spot by Memphis, if he is there. Obviously scouts are pretty high on his ridic upside.
